Blaze is a handsome black and white domestic longhair kitten approximately 4 ½ months of age. He has a mild form of cerebellar hypoplasia (CH), a disorder where the cerebellum of the brain has not fully formed. The cerebellum is the center for gross and fine motor control, balance, and coordination.

Blaze’s CH symptoms include some jerky or abnormal movements, and head bobbing or tremors. These are more noticeable when excited or anxious, but do not cause him any real concerns. While there is no cure for Cerebellar Hypoplasia, it neither gets better nor worse. A kitten will learn to compensate for his or her condition and will have a normal lifespan. In Blaze’s case, the stronger he gets and more he uses his body and muscles, the less obvious his symptoms. He climbs, runs, plays, and uses the litter box without issue.

Blaze is a lover and a player, enjoying people and toys and the company of his littermates. Although not yet exposed to other cats, dogs, or children, his personality suggests he will be fine with all given respectful and patient transitions. He would also be fine as an only kitty with human interaction and attention.

Blaze and his littermates and mom came into foster care with ringworm, but he has been tested twice with four-week cultures by an outside lab and is free of the fungus. He has not had any upper respiratory concerns or other health issues.

Blaze has been neutered, microchipped, tested for feline leukemia and feline AIDS, is current on vaccinations, and has been treated for internal and external parasites. His adoption fee is $120.
