Contact Daphne's Caretaker/Foster Directly: Colleen (colleen2jan@att.net)
Daphne is a gentle, sensitive-soul kind of dog. She came into a veterinary clinic with a badly broken leg, but a fantastic doctor donated his time and skills to patch her up, and now her leg is 100%! We do not expect there to be any future issues the leg that was broken, and the doctor who did her surgery was kind enough to offer to take care of any that may come up. Daphne's foster family can't say enough nice things about her. She's an expert cuddler, an avid walking or hiking companion, renowned couch potato, and brave defender against marauding squirrels. She gets along great with other animals and has a gentle nature that would be ideal with children. She wants nothing more than to be near you. Daphne rides nicely in a car and can't wait to go to work with her foster mom every chance she gets. Once there, she waits patiently on her bed until it's time for the next car ride home! Daphne is currently dealing with a little bit of bleeding at her ear tips. The doctor has recommended a few months of steroids to help resolve this. It should resolve completely, but in some dogs, it does recur. At this point, the condition is very minor and the medication is very inexpensive (typically less than $15 a month at most vets). Also, while she is fast friends with her foster family's dog, we think that she would be best in a home with no other dominant-type dogs or with a person who is experienced with having multiple dogs. Daphne is crate trained, house trained, and knows some basic commands. She is spayed, vaccinated, and ready to go home with her perfect forever family - a home with people or a family who will love her, play with her, take her on walks, and keep her safe on lead or in a fenced yard.! To arrange a time to meet Daphne, please contact her foster mother at bellacoche@gmail.com or fflar@friendsforliferescue.org. Her adoption fee is $200.
