A suitable nickname for Sandy would be “whirlwind” as this little guy rarely stops moving!   He’s less than a year old and we’re not sure of his mix – probably has some Chihuahua in him and maybe some terrier – but it’s hard to tell. He has a beautiful chocolate brown coat and weighs in at around 12#. 

 

From the time he gets up in the morning until he goes to bed at night, he is a busy little bee. He’s interested in everything and is very entertaining to watch. Sandy loves playing with the other dogs in his foster home and, ideally, would be placed in a home with another youngish dog that is bigger than him. (He plays a bit rough with dogs smaller than him.)   Older children would also be great as I’m sure they could keep each other busy. 

 

He’s coming along nicely in his housetraining and has learned to use a doggie door. (So a fenced yard with a doggie door would also be a big bonus.)   Sandy could really benefit from a puppy-training class as it’s obvious he’s been a “free spirit” so far in his life and he would benefit from some boundary-setting. 

 

After a full day of chasing birds, hiding slippers, and wrestling with his doggy friends, he does settle nicely at night and loves to snuggle with you while you watch TV or read. 

Sandy is truly a joy to have around the house – you just need to have patience and a good sense of humor to see him through his older puppy antics!!

 

Sandy has been neutered, microchipped, is current on vaccinations including rabies, tested negative for heartworms, and has been treated for fleas and worms.
