E.T. (DMH smoky black male with gold eyes) Adopting a unique kitten like our brave little E.T. is sure to be an out of this world experience! E.T. came to FFLAR as one of eight orphaned neonate kittens who had to be bottle fed. They were dangerously fragile and suffering from coccidia. E.T. was the tiniest of the crew and the most seriously ill, but he and his brother Elliott were fostered by a young volunteer who gave them around the clock care and attention. E.T. wouldn’t give up, nor would she. Thanks to her love and dedication, both E.T. and Elliott are flourishing today, and looking for their forever homes.
E.T. is a quirky fellow. He enjoys watching TV while curled up with his foster mom. He closely watches the screen, and we’re pretty sure he actually has favorite shows. He will pounce at the TV if birds or insects appear onscreen. If they don’t make a quick appearance, then he will pounce on his brother’s head instead. Leaving a TV on in the background will keep him entertained if he has to be alone for part of the day.
Because he and Elliott had to sleep in separate kennels while they were so ill, his foster mom gave them stuffed animals to snuggle with and E.T. still loves to snuggle up to his. Too cute! He insists on reigning at the top of the cat tree, then gives his mom a heart attack when he simple leaps into open air to come greet her when she gets home. She has strategically moved the cat tree closer to the bed.
E.T. is very bonded to his human and follows her everywhere, and even comes when she calls him. He loves to curl up under her chin at night while they sleep and gives her kitten kisses and his rumbling purr lulls her to sleep after a stressful day. He would not thrive in a home where he would be banished from the bedroom at night.
E.T. is extremely expressive and vocal about what he likes and doesn’t like. Despite his fragile and uncertain beginnings, E.T. has grown into a bold, confident little fellow. He owns whatever space he walks into and seems unfazed when he dashes out of his bedroom to come nose to nose with the resident German Shepherd. He is extremely laid back and calm, but loves, loves, loves to be held and cuddled. His eyes are stunning and expressive, intently checking out the world around him, then melting into liquid gold behind that loving slow blink when he meets his humans’ gaze.
An ideal home for E.T. would include his brother, Elliot. He and Elliot were raised together and are buddies. If adopted together, they will be great companions, both to each other and to the very lucky family that they become a part of. However, their foster mom does not think it is absolutely necessary for them to go together because both kittens have strong, confident personalities. If you feel that there is a safe place in your heart and home for ET and possibly Elliot, please contact their foster mom, Laura, at (540) 272-3506 (cell). E.T. has been neutered, microchipped, tested for FeLV and FIV, is current on her vaccinations, and has been treated for fleas, ear mites, and worms. His adoption fee is $130, cash or check only.
