Ballad is a young adult brown and black terrier mix – her mission in life is to be with and please her humans. She loves to fetch balls, chew rawhides, and play squeaky toys – she definitely needs to be in a family who wants a dog to take with them and preferably one in which outdoor activities play a large part. She’d be a great running and hiking companion! Ballad requires positive reward based training and has a visible cringe reaction to loud or harsh voices. She wants to please, but will need consistent and positive-based training to develop appropriate habits for her new family. She likes to be able to be with (and at a minimum, to see) her people, and loves to sit on laps, couches, chairs, and so forth. Chewing is a strong desire, so she will need lots of appropriate things to chew on and patient loving guidance with regard to all things inappropriate! Ballad has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and treated for fleas and worms. If you are interested in learning more about Ballad, please start by completing the Dog Adoption Application (available at http://www.friendsforliferescue.org/info/adoption). This is used during the family interviews to help guide the adoption process and make the best match possible between Ballad and her future family. You may fax or e-mail the completed application or bring it to our outreach events at the Mount Vernon Petco store on Saturdays from 11 am to 3 pm.
